Radnage W.I.’s April meeting was held as usual in Radnage Village Hall.

Our Speaker Sylvia and her husband are speakers for the Hearing dogs for Deaf People charity. They had brought along their current charge, Ivy, a small, black and very cute hearing dog which they were “socialising” during her training. Ivy spent a lot of the meeting asleep on the lap of one of our members who also has hearing dogs during training, when not asleep she kept a very close eye on the canines on the recreation field, taking their owners out for an evening stroll. She made it quite clear that she wanted to join in. The talk was about the work of the charity and the dogs, and provoked many questions. Tea and cakes followed, and the usual noisy, chatty, social time.

The business part of the meeting, involved organising our forthcoming litter pick, and signpost washing day, on 9th May 2009. We hope to involve other village organisations in this event.

Our next catering event is in May. Carol has the list of food required.

We are all looking forward to our outing in June with The Ridge evening W.I. Our near neighbours. We are going for a trip on a canal boat and having a fish and chip supper. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather!

The usual Raffle prizes, bring and buy, also whole cakes are needed please as Kay intends to have a cake stall, as well as providing mouthwatering morsels with the coffee. Good company, Good cakes, and a Good cause! Can you think of anything better to do on a Friday morning in May!! be there or be square!
